EP2. transaction
On the first day I cam here, I had the first date meeting to listento company's security and rules. It took about 1 hour, I guessed. HR would tell the floor by each peroson then let each one go to pick his own laptop. While I was waiting for my laptop, a few members of my team came to pick me up. I had no idea at the first time whom I was going to work with and thier faces, I had never known either. I remembered that I saw one foreigner, farang, walking with two Thai persons. I just thought that that was amazing! I finally found foreigners here! I really wanted to speak English with him now!
After waiting for a while, P'Arm walked directly to me then he said welcome to our team. Our team was on 23rd floor, quickly followed me. Wow that farang was walking with us. I started greeting without hesitation. "Hello! My name is Plam, I am going to work here as an internship student." I said. I was so impressed. Oh there was also P'Muay who came to pick me up, she was working at the different team.
I met other members in my team. There were P'Tom, P'Pook, P'Ek, P'Dum, P'Arm and Leandro. Someone disappeared who was my supervisor P'Boy! He did not meet me at the first day, I came to the office. I asked my team where P'boy was. He was being in Egypt that was the answer I got. Amazing! My supervisor gotta be rich for sure. Oh! I should mention my lovely supervisor, Boorana Kraisorn.
I got my assigned work to make a project about making automated robot to fake itself being many users to test on desktop application. He showed me some prototype that he made then let me start doing with myself. That work I got was not that hard, but it took time to do it. Then I just gradually continued doing it. Until...
ERROR! Oh my gosh! No matter what you avoided it. You must face and overcome it. That problem was not able to fix by me and P'Boy. Oh I gotta say P'Boy could not really code, but he knew logics. The solution was to ask for help from GTS, GSD - Global Service Desk, I had to contact them via the chat. I had to text in English and tell them what my problems were. ERROR! during we were chatting, I did something wrong so our chat session were closed. I was gonna cry, haha. What I was suprised more, I got a call from New Yoek, USA. "Hello Palm, how's about your problem?" wait! no! that was my first time to talk about work in English. I was nervous. I could not speak loudly because other people were working. I remembered that The most often words I spoke were pardon and excure me. However, I made it completely. My problem disappeared. I told P'Boy that I was so excited, I called with a foreigner and I used English!
I thought I was familiar and close to GSD staffs, haha. I had been facing problems more often. Do you think is that bad? No, exactly not. My English would be better at that time. Oh do not worry if you are not good at English, they are willingly to help you.
Stop talking about work. That's enough, haha. Well, I should never miss this topic, FOOD. I am not sure where the first restaurant we went. But I remembered where the most expensive restaurant we went, haha. It is the Rhong Si restaurant. I should not tell how disaster of money we faced. We would take a taxi to have lunch where was far from our office.
Oh! there is a funny story, I remember this story clearly. I texted in our group line that I wanted to eat cripsy pork, could you give me a recommended restaurant please? then P'Tom said let's have crispy pork and all menus in papaya salad restaurant selling. I was like WHAT!? Shouldn't I tell them that I wanted to have everything in the world? haha. We did not go outside at that time, We ordered and ate in our pantry. We had a lot things many times together.
During 4 months in that time quickly passed. I asked my supervisor to help other teams. I told him that I still wanted to be better. I wanted to try new things and learn more about other work. I told him that I was still being responsible for his project. I would take care of it well. He told me that He let me make a decision. That was my profit. That was my future. Just did what I thought that I should have done it. I just had to finish and take care of his project as well. I told you my supervisor was so kind
Back from drama story, haha. Of course, I would not let this chance go away! They were discussing about where they should treat me kinda farewell party. We went to Nice To Meat You restaurant, korean grilled restaurant. That was my favvvvorite! Hmm that restaurant was not buffet either. Then we should not talk about the price again, haha. We went to KFC, After you, Bar.B.Q Plaza, MK Gold, Food court, Coco Ichibanya and etc.
My team was like my family. I was happy to work with them. I enjoyed talking things and things. I also respected them. At least what i talked previously may show you some of my feelings I had to this team. THANK YOU for letting me be one of your team!
